Dr M. Tilak has been treating me for a series of health problems w/the spine, joints and musculoskeletal system for approx 7yrs. He is also my primary care doctor which is helpful for patients dealing with chronic pain disorders. His long term nursing staff have all been lovely and helpful.

Every time I come here the staff is always smiling and always remembers me and my kids !!! My kids don't even see them yet they always take time out of there day to ask about them. Best customer service I've ever received at a doctors office

Patients who die in their sleep with their meds in their system and *without abusing* them are all labeled as an overdose and lumped in the same group as heroin addiction. Don't blame the doctors; blame the system that takes a lot of control out of their hands by a few powerful lobby groups who took part in the CDC guidelines, even though patients and our doctors were not at the table.

Always very professional, very understanding and always help when those medical issues arise

Currently, the suicide rate among chronic pain patients is rising yet ruled as overdose.

Drug testing isn't because 'we' are criminals or that our doctors think we are; the DEA thinks we are and they expect it. The point is to ensure your meds are in your system - not to bust you. If in doubt, and your UA was sent to the lab; request a blood test at an independent diagnostic center.

Dr Mel's office favors use of injections which many fear - including me from past experiences w/dr's who were very harsh on my cervical spine. It took 5yrs before I allowed DR Tilak to do cervical injections on me. [and many other areas too now!]

He's very strict, he follows the rules, he isn't going to over prescribe and he follows the new CDC guidelines which is hurting patients but doctors have little choice at this time. The new CDC guidelines are killing patients by their own hand across the country in an ironic effort by the Feds to reduce overdose deaths associated more with heroin addicts.

For me there is no cure only treatment and injections are part of that treatment. A process of trial and error, working together, using a list to remember issues is how it has me *managed* and that's just barely managed. Not only is my disability incredibly painful it's difficult to treat as so much of my body is affected.

The reviews show either love or dislike.

To summarize: Stick it out past a few months.

It was so inflamed I cried during the procedure 1st time; but after 72hrs so much burning in that area eased! [90 day min 2yrs max between areas & relief]. This was the greatest relief in that area I had for 23yrs!

Have patience, doctors treating patients in pain are highly regulated, audited, and can lose their career if they make a mistake.

Use a notebook to remember issues and address them quickly.

NEVER mix alcohol with any medications. Work to help improve the system for all patients by writing to elected officials, newspapers and vote!

Consider injections and ask questions. Ask about the variety of injection locations too!

I was a patient for years, I stayed because of the patient nurse relationships I developed with three of his RNs. I used M. Tilaks Middleburg office as my primary. I left due to the less than ethical practice as a whole that I observed with other patients & the staff that started to turn.over like flies that were obviously not there for the same reasons as myself in addition to it's billing process (obligating me to come every two weeks and billing me fifty dollars over my Florida Blue insurance deductible without asking for the money at the counter) in addition to sending me to collections for it. Tilak was raided by the Blue Cross investigators DEA & state of Florida today. Both locations have been closed. Over a decade ago he was caught triple billing Medicaid which is why they wouldn't accept it up until today when they were closed. Appharently, I wasn't the only one who was triple billed while holding Blue Cross! I can't count how many patients that I have come across that have walked out of his office with 2-4 different narcotic prescriptions despite the patients visible deterioration not only physically but mentally over short periods of time. It was like M. Tilak had no conscience about his patients well being by helping them on their road to full fledged drug addiction so he could make sure he and his family could afford his monthly if not bimonthly flights to India. Towards the end of my time with the office I was so flustered that I had only been blessed with M. Tilak's presence twice in four years and every time I tried to contact him, he was convienently and literally out of the country.

Any patient who doesn't feel *managed* needs to stick it out. Being managed is not something that happens over night and its not going to make all the pain go away - for anyone. That's why we are *chronic pain* patients. Acute would be a broken bone. It is a process of working together to improve my quality of life and my problems have progressed despite it all.

Speak up, if you still feel like something is not being addressed. Be open minded on treatment options and medicines. Sometimes a change in meds makes the difference without increasing dose and can often lower equivalent doses. Research, not just the doctor but treatment options.

Patients will either love his style or hate it. For a long time I was on the fence too. Trust is earned; the same goes for a doctor trusting his patients in this field where careers are destroyed and businesses ruined it can be difficult to find a doctor that does more.

They will lie to you and they will charge u for stuff u don't need the lady at front desk was on the phone with her boyfriend for ten min and told me I was late when she got off the phone
