I told her she said they closed at 7, as is their store hours, Mon.-Sat., having shopped there for 15 years. I definitely felt she was trying to close early, instead of truly sticking to store hours. I don't know who was the instigator - Mrs. Bailey, or Chelsea, but, I know most of it was Chelsea's choice in her actions towards someone all of sudden very ill.
I love this place ! Staff is super nice and helpful. Sometimes I just stop in to get my dogs a pig ear treat.
Awesome. From wallets to feed to hay to fence posts, wormer nails, saddles, tracking colers it never really ends.
While I was there, the owner called, and Chelsea shared with the owner (Rebecca and Russell Bailey) that I was sick, in the store...though I had not made a mess, nor interfered with anything...and, Chelsea was insistent on not helping me, other than to lie and say they closed at 6:30pm.
Very friendly staff. They always have someone there to load my stuff for me. When my dogs went missing they let my husband put flyers in their store. They are a little town business in a world of chain stores and it's refreshing to have him so close to home.
The only thing Chelsea did was continue to scream and yell like a maniac, in a threatening manner, and stating, "I shouldn't even be driving!" Wrong answer!! What happened has nothing to do with my ability to drive, or to do anything else - it was a malfunction in the pump setting, and, another 10 minutes could have remedied everything.
BTW - During a personal health emergency, more than a half hour before their closing time, my "symptoms" flared, due to a malfunction in my insulin pump, which had been replaced the day before, but, apparently a step in the setup process had been missed, and, I really needed to contact the pump supply company, which is an 800#. I had gone for more than 24 hours without my medicine via my pump, and, the girl behind the counter - Chelsea - asked if the boys from the warehouse could help me out to my car. I stated no, I needed to sit down, before I collapsed at that moment, and, she did have the young man go to my vehicle and, he brought my medicine kit to me so I could inject outside my pump. It takes a little bit for the medicine to kick in to feel well enough. "Chelsea" refused to let me borrow their phone to call Medtronic, so I could quickly get my pump working again, as she stated (correctly) I would not be able to pick up a signal in their store. The store was not busy, she had a cell phone that did pick up reception where she was behind the counter. I had asked when the store closed, she said 7pm...so I knew I had time to try to remedy this healthcare emergent/urgent situation...but, I was met with nothing but hostility.
You should not repackage any foods - esp. not medicines, to make more $$. What you do with food and medicine is illegal.
I had been shopping at Russell's since they opened 15 years ago. I used to think very highly of them; however, I started noticing things that I find highly inappropriate...bags of some kinds of feed have been opened, and, repackaged in clear plastic bags, without proper labels, other than hand-written prices, and, a hand-written sign of what it "is." - i.e., chicken feed, or bird feed, whatever it might be. The same for other types of products. I also noticed they sell medicines behind the counter, which have obviously been opened, repackaged in little jewelry-type boxes - with what looked like xeroxed labels taped on them. This is highly inappropriate, and, I suspect illegal. Anyone who would remove medicines from original packaging, and, resell it for the sake of making a bit more money, truly is playing with people's animals and their health. They completely lost my business, and, I have moved on to Lisa's Feed in Middleburg, on S.R. 21, just south of 21 & 218.
I used to think very well of you all - but, Mrs. Bailey, who did speak to me briefly as I did ask to speak to the owner, was as inhospitable as Chelsea. I hope if you all ever need help in an emergency, you actually get someone compassionate, instead of doing nothing!! I will continue to share my negative experiences, if your store is mentioned.
Chelsea started screaming and yelling at me to get out of the store and don't come back! Not only was I shocked by her less than professional manner, but mostly by her lack of concern for someone who was obviously in a serious health crisis which could have been easily remedied, by allowing my medicine to kick in...though it was still vital to get my pump working properly.
Always helpful and knowledgeable. Love this place and I am a customer for life.
